During week 6, we have made a lot of achievements to push forward on schedule.
Mentors' Feedback:
Need better camera angle in shot 2-3, consider variation when starting shots.
Implementing better floor to wall transition in shot 2-3.
In shot 4, it's hard to read red material transition on red curtain, consider using effects for it.
In shot 5, the lighting in the background doesn't match what it looks like on crowds.
Less details on should be seen on crowd.
Make a higher resolution logo.
Check the alignment of stage plank board and backdrop bottom.
Check tracking for floor.
The flare can be added in composition.
Flashes can be used in shot 2-3.
Vis for the Week:
Tasks for the Week:
Doing transition by directional dissolve directly on backdrop and curtain meshes.

Directional Dissolve:
After we got feedback from mentors, we decided to change our transition to a directional dissolve in shot 2-3. The backdrop dissolves upward and the curtain follows. After we take the shot with this effect on stage, we are going to implement a sparkling effect along the line of transition by compositing.

For all dissolving meshes, we used similar methods, which is adding the material parameters onto the base material.

The key is to set down the bounding box and do the math with dot product and subtract the parameter chosen from the material parameter sets. With DitherTemporalAA node and plug it into Opacity Mask, a directional dissolving material is finished.

In the sequencer, drag in Material Parameter Set and keyframe the parameter working on the material and it is going to fade out through the timeline.

Final Shoot:
This Thursday we have officially finished shooting on XR Stage. The effects look promising and we are going to continue fixing them in compositing. We also reserved two hours on March 4th to finish off our shots in case we want better shots.
Greenscreen:
This week we also finished our greenscreen shot for shot 4. We are going to composite the talent into the CG stage scene over next few weeks.

Thank you for everyone working on set for beautiful shots!
Special thanks to Amelia Mcpartlin as our actress in shots!
