This week SCAD X Harbor Picture collaboration class officially kicks off. I'm very happy since it is the first time I worked in a group project and grateful for having the chance to learn among other artists.
Team Roles:
Ben Jones - Virtual Production
Yejin Eom - Lighting/Look Development
Jingxing Liu - FX
Tianze Xu (me) - FX
Katherine Faye Nitti - FX/Virtual Production
Julian Schenker - Lighting/Composition
During the brainstorm phase, we explored several commercial concepts. Team name is decided to be Rouge, which is red in French. It is also related to the product we chose. Christian Louboutin high heels with red bottoms are decided to be what our commercial on about. As Professor Bridget Gaynor suggested, in the high heels we are going to work on changed from red bottom to golden bottom.

Conceptual Art:
Since we are changing from red bottom heels to golden bottom ones. The previous red bottom reference picture won't be appropriate anymore for presentation and expected effects in this projects should be shown. So we created a new conceptual art based on what we have by now.

References:
For the effects we decided to deco style geometric shapes spreading effects in Houdini for first 2 shots in full CG style. For shots 3, 4, we will do dissolving effects for LED Volume Stage. Shots 5 and 6 will be done by paparazzi flashlight effects in dark spaces but shot 5 will create as full CG and shot 6 is for LED Stage. Shot 7 will involve particle effects.

The environment is set to be a Parisian street and lighting should match daylight at dusk.

Extra Thoughts:
Jingxing mentioned we can do a shot of model blowing golden particles away as the transition to high heels scene in shot 7.
